1. Who we are
WealthStacker ("the Platform", "we", "us" or "our") is a property portfolio and planning tool for Australian property investors. The Platform is owned and operated by Search Property Pty Ltd (ABN 50 638 601 582).
Our registered address is Suite 4.01, Level 4, 4 Drake Avenue, Macquarie Park NSW 2113, Australia. You can reach our privacy team at [email protected].
This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Platform, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the WealthStacker website and web application.
2. Scope and your rights under Australian law
We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy describes how we handle personal information in accordance with those obligations, including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
"Personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. "Sensitive information" is a subset of personal information that attracts higher protection. By using the Platform, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
3. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the Platform. It includes:
Account and identity information
- Your name, email address and account password (stored only in hashed form, never in plain text).
- Account preferences and the organisation you most recently used.
- Where your organisation uses single sign-on, identity details passed to us by the Search Property identity provider.
Organisation, team and invitation information
- Your membership of an organisation (for example a buyer's agency or mortgage broking firm) and your role within it (Owner, Admin or Member).
- If you are invited to an organisation, the email address used to invite you and any property details an administrator chose to share with you as part of that invitation, even before you create an account.
Property and financial information
- Property details you enter: addresses, suburbs, postcodes, attributes, purchase and sale prices, deposits, valuations, rental income, expenses, loan amounts, interest rates, loan terms, refinances and offset balances.
- Investment holdings you record, such as shares and cryptocurrency, including quantities and purchase prices.
- Scenarios, goal plans and rentvest plans you build, including the growth, savings and projection assumptions they contain.
- Ownership structures you set up (for example personal name, trust or company) used to organise your holdings.
Borrowing capacity information
- If you use the borrowing power tool, financial details about you (and, where relevant, your partner): income from salary, overtime, bonuses, self-employment, investments and rent; living expenses; existing rent; other loan repayments; credit card limits; the number of dependants; and details of any existing home loan. This is sensitive financial information; see section 6.
Content you create
- Notes, messages to the AI assistant, notifications and other content you add while using the Platform.
Usage, device and technical information
- Information collected automatically when you use the Platform: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, interactions and timestamps.
- Records of failed login attempts (IP address and username) used to protect accounts from brute-force attacks.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See section 11.
Marketing and waitlist information
- If you join the WealthStacker waitlist, register for early access, join a partner waitlist or contact us: your first and last name, email address, mobile number, company name, business type (for example investor, buyer's agent or mortgage broker), the number of properties you own, your investing timeframe, your state or territory, and any message you provide.
- Your marketing preferences, including whether you have unsubscribed, and records of the marketing messages we have sent you.
We use this information for marketing as described in section 9, and we share it with our partners as set out in that section.
4. How we collect your information
- Directly from you when you create an account, enter property or financial data, use our tools, or contact us.
- From your organisation when an administrator invites you or shares properties, scenarios or other records with you.
- Automatically through your use of the Platform, including via cookies and analytics.
- From third parties such as property data providers (valuation and listing data) and government and public data sources, which we combine with the addresses you enter.
5. How and why we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate and maintain the Platform and your account.
- Run the portfolio dashboard, planners, borrowing power estimates, valuations, location analysis and AI assistant.
- Enable organisations and teams to collaborate and share records.
- Send service communications such as verification, login codes, invitations and notifications.
- Secure the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- Understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it.
- Send you marketing about WealthStacker, Search Property and our partners, and refer your interest to our lending and property management partners, as described in section 9.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
6. Sensitive financial information
The borrowing power tool and your property records involve detailed personal financial information, including income, expenses, liabilities and household composition. We collect this information only where you choose to provide it, and we use it solely to produce the estimates, projections and portfolio views you have asked for.
By entering this information you consent to us collecting and handling it for those purposes. You do not have to use the borrowing power tool, and you can delete the information you have entered at any time.
WealthStacker is an information and modelling tool. Estimates and projections are illustrations only and are not financial, credit, tax or legal advice. See our Terms of Use for details.
7. The AI assistant and your queries
The Platform includes an AI assistant that answers property investing questions, drawing on educational video content and the context of your conversation.
- When you send a message, your query and a limited window of your recent conversation are sent to a third-party AI provider for real-time processing so a response can be generated. This processing is subject to that provider's terms and privacy practices.
- Your messages and the assistant's responses are stored in your account so your conversation history is available to you.
- You should not enter information in the assistant that you do not wish to be processed by a third-party AI provider. Do not rely on the assistant's outputs as professional advice. They may be incomplete or inaccurate.
9. Marketing communications and our partners
Marketing from us
WealthStacker is part of Search Property Pty Ltd. When you join the waitlist, register for early access, create an account, or otherwise give us your contact details, you consent to us contacting you for marketing purposes about WealthStacker, Search Property and our partners. This includes product updates and early access invitations, educational content, webinars and events, and offers relating to property investing, buyer's agency, property management and finance.
We may contact you by email, SMS, phone and in-app or push messages. We may also use your contact details to show you relevant advertising on third-party platforms.
Sharing with our partners
We work with a small number of named partners, and you consent to us disclosing your details to them so they may contact you about their services:
- Refyne Loans, our accredited mortgage broking partner, which powers the borrowing power tool on the Platform. Refyne Loans may contact you about home loan and finance options.
- Rentnest Pty Ltd (ABN 36 692 286 721), our property management partner, which provides nationwide residential property management. Rentnest may contact you about managing your investment properties.
The details we may disclose to either partner are your name, email address, mobile number, state or territory, company name, business type, the number of properties you own and your investing timeframe. They may contact you by email, SMS or phone.
We do not disclose the figures you enter in the borrowing power tool, or your property and portfolio records, to a partner unless you ask us to, or you use a feature that clearly submits those details to them (for example an enquiry or a booking request).
Refyne Loans and Rentnest are separate businesses. Once your details are disclosed, each handles them as an independent data controller under its own privacy policy, and is responsible for its own communications and services. Any credit assistance is provided by Refyne Loans, and any property management service is provided by Rentnest, not by us.
Your choices
- You can opt out of our marketing at any time by emailing [email protected] and asking us to stop. We will action your request promptly. We will still send essential service messages such as verification, login and security notices.
- Opting out of our marketing does not automatically opt you out of contact from Refyne Loans or Rentnest. To stop that contact, opt out with them directly, or tell us and we will pass your request on.
- You can ask us not to disclose your details to either partner. If you have already been referred, we cannot recall a disclosure already made.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own unrelated marketing beyond what is described in this section.
10. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia (for example in the United States). Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. By using the Platform you consent to these overseas disclosures.
12. How we store and protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. These include strong, industry-standard password hashing, encrypted connections, access controls based on your organisation role, and brute-force login protection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, and afterwards only as long as required for our legitimate business or legal purposes. Pending organisation invitations expire after seven days. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data. See section 14.
14. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: you can access and update much of your information directly in the Platform, or ask us for a copy or to correct it.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete your account and personal information, subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Marketing: you can opt out of marketing at any time, and ask us to stop referring your details to our partners, by emailing [email protected]. See section 9. We will still send essential service communications.
- Consent: where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this will not affect processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these, contact us at [email protected].
15. Data breach notification
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
16. Eligibility and children
The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Your continued use of the Platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
